Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will work within a private wealth management team to provide services both internally and to clients and prospects. The objective of this position is to both help the team self-source new business and gain the confidence of the First Republic bankers in an effort to collaborate with them to grow wealth management relationships from their clients and prospects. First Republic has multiple wealth management alternatives available to prospects and the Wealth Advisor team should take on a flexible, strategic approach to determining the most appropriate solution for each client opportunity. Some new wealth management business generated by the Wealth Advisor team will originate from banker referrals and the Wealth Advisor will also be expected to conduct their own business development efforts and source their own new clients.

 

The team that works with our clients generally consists of:

  • The Relationship Manager (or other banker) that manages the overall bank relationship with the client;
  • the Wealth Advisor team, who initially helps determine the appropriate wealth solutions for the client and may serve as an ongoing resource to clients;
  • a Wealth Manager that acts as the day-to-day manager of the client’s investment assets
  • A Financial Planner for certain clients
  • An Insurance Specialist for certain clients
  • A Trust Officer in instance where we deliver trust services to the client

What you will be doing as a Director, Associate Wealth Advisor:

  • Establish credibility and build confidence as a trusted advisor with relationship managers, other bankers, prospects and
  • Collaborate with bankers to identify and prioritize prospects for private wealth management
  • Help the team generate new assets under management through the bank’s existing lending relationships and the initiation of new
  • Self-source deposits and wealth management business
  • Help build and maintain a process for existing client and prospect relationship management, specifically for prospect and clients with meaningful future liquidity events.
  • Build and maintain a strong brand and network within the Professional Investor (VC/PE) and Startup ecosystems.
  • Evaluate clients’ portfolios to assist Wealth Managers in developing asset allocation recommendations and investment
  • Manage client interaction with other First Republic related wealth
  • Keep abreast of trends and strategies in wealth management, technology, venture and private equity.

The candidate must be a college graduate. An advanced degree, such as an MBA, equivalent, CFP or a CFA is an enhancement. The candidate must have or qualify for series 7 and 63 licenses.

 

Professional Qualifications and Personal Characteristics

The successful candidate will be a “roll up your sleeves” professional who is eager to distinguish him/herself in building a wealth advisory business. He or she will have at least seven years of sales experience and will have a strong understanding of the broad range of wealth management products and services. He or she will be a wealth management professional whose approach inspires confidence as a trusted advisor. Other important qualifications include:

  • Proven ability to effectively market and sell services.
  • Self starter.
  • A self-confident, proactive professional with the maturity necessary to work autonomously and with people of all levels in the
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and
  • A professional of unquestionable integrity, credibility and character who demonstrates high moral and ethical

Job Demands:

  • Must be able to review and analyze data reports and manuals; must be computer proficient.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone and in person.

Base salary range

$85,000 - $100,000 annually

Salary may vary depending on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills and experience. Full-time employees may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes: medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k), life insurance, paid time off and a Wellness Program.  Annual bonus, incentive pay and/or equity may also apply depending upon the role.
